Awesome Wednesday!

Today we had a great day!
We started off the day with morning circle time led by Makaela and healthy snacks.
In Journal writing we watched a 2 min. clip from Sesame Street where Cookie Monster talked about what a friend is. Next students traced the following sentence: "My best friend at school." Then they drew their best friend. JKs are encouraged to use their imagination in their journal and draw as many details as possible.
In our hands on am activity we made alphabet stamps on play dough.
In Language Arts we sang our phonics song and completed a worksheet where students had to trace and write letter I. They also had to look at some pictures and try to identify in which picture they hear short I sound.
In Math we traced and wrote number 2. Next students played a game where they had to look at the card number and attach the correct amount of clothespin (that's a good activity for fine motor skills as well as numeracy!). Still in the morning right before lunch they had French with Mme. Stella.
After lunch we had reading buddies. Gr. 3s are going to join us throughout the year every Wed. for 20 minutes of reading. Each JK is paired up with a Gr. 3.
We had a shorter time for centers today, but they still had fun with blocks and art.
To finish off the day, students participated in Gym class.
Have a great evening everyone!
