Fun Day!!!

Today we began the day with morning circle time led by Gabriella and healthy snacks. Students are getting better each day in regards to follow routine. Again, in the morning snacks I usually encourage students to eat a healthy snack, you may send a treat or two and they will eat after lunch or afternoon snack time.

In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of I. We made a list of words that begin with I sound and also thought of words where we can hear short I sound in the middle (pig, fish, milk). Then students completed  a page of their Writing with Phonics book. They practiced tracing and writing upper case and lower case I.

In our am hands on activity we used dry erase books to practice penmanship skills. This is a 20 minute activity that usually involves development and control of the small muscles of the hands (fine motor skills), this will allow students to make precise movements necessary for forming letters and improving hand/eye coordination.

In Math we talked about our current unit on sorting. We talked about a picture from our big Math book where it showed lots of different socks. We talked and pointed things we sort in our class and why we do that. Then students used math counters to sort it out.

In our Unit of Inquiry we read a book about feelings and also talked about character traits (words that describe a person). Then each students stood up and was positively described by his classmates. Take a look at our class door.

To finish off the day we had story time, a short clip from Crawford the Cat and gym class. Today students participated in Drama and French classes.
Have a great evening!
