Fantastic 1st Day of School!

I must say, I am very proud of my JKs! We had a great day!
In the morning we had Oh Canada and announcements in the Gym. Each student was placed in their houses. We came into our class, had morning circle time, where we do calendar, songs and weather.
Next we had our healthy snacks. Students then had Drama class with Mr. Monaghan (see the picture).
In Language Arts we made a straw name collage and also spent some time talking about things we can do to have a fun classroom. After that students watched a short clip about respect. Next students had French class with Mme. Stella.
After lunch we read a story and colored a picture titled: "My First Day in Kindergarten". I explained and showed to students the difference between level 1 and level 4 coloring. Level 1 has a lot of scribbling and level 4 is a neat coloring inside the lines and variety of colors. To finish the day we had centers (see the pictures), Gym class and packed up to go home.
Have a great evening everyone!
