Sunny Tuesday!

Today we started the day off with morning circle time led by Vaibhav and healthy snacks.
In our am hands on activity we had 3 stations in the class where students practiced forming short words in different ways. Students spent 5 minutes in each station and today we focused on words that have the short u sound.
1. Dry erase borads

 2. Stamping on play dough

3. Magnet letters

In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of u and completed a page to practice formation of e.
Students also completed a page of their Phonics book where they had to look at the name of each picture and circle the picture in which they hear the short vowel sound.
In Math we practiced writing number 3. Everyone did a pretty good job!
In our UOI we completed another page from our booklet: "I am special".
In the afternoon students participated in centers and we watched this video together: http://youtu.be/kGhLeDugztY
Big Bird, Elmo, Abby and the rest of the Sesame Street gang address the important issue of bullying in a special episode, "The Good Birds' Club." When Big Bird gets bullied by another bird in the neighborhood, Elmo and Abby help children understand the difference between reporting and tattling. The episode encourages children to seek the help of an adult they trust when faced with challenging situations and provides safe strategies for empowering young children to help their peers in need.
Have a great evening everyone!
