What a beautiful day to have outdoor recess!
We began the day with morning circle time led by Layla and health snacks.
In our Journal we completed a page where students identified how they felt on their first day of school. They colored the face/expression that represented them the most (nervous, excited, happy or sad).
In Language Arts we will learn about letter I this week (name, sound and formation). Each week we will also learn about an animal that associates with the letter. This week is Inch Inchworm. Next, students completed a page to practice tracing and writing upper/lowercase I.
In Math we practiced numeracy skills by counting objects in a set and also tracing and writing number 1.
In our UOI we read a book titled: Curious George First Day of School. After that we had a discussion about the story. Our conclusion was that everyone can help and how important is to follow instructions, not only at school, everywhere!
In the afternoon we had the following centers: drama area, pattern stamps and blocks.
To finish the day we had cupcakes to celebrate Lexi's 4th birthday and Gym class.
