Happy Wednesday!!!

We had a great day today!
We began the day with morning circle time led by Bryce and health snacks.
In our am hands on activity we used foaming shaving cream to form letters.

In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of I and U. We also practiced reading short words with U sound in it (cup, gum, sun, duck, bug). Students then completed a page of their workbook to practice correct letter formation.
In Math we practiced counting and writing numbers 5-6.
In our UOI we talked about likes and dislikes. Students were paired up with a friend and received a variety of pictures. They were encouraged to talk about the picture, tell the friend if they like it or not and why. After they talked to each other, they shared with the class. This activity is great for students to improve their vocabulary, communication and listening skills. This is what some of the students shared:
Makaela saw a picture of Frozen and said: "I like this movie because I watched with my whole family!"
Vishnu saw a picture of a girl with a dog and said: "I like this picture because I like dogs!"
Maya saw a picture of an umbrella: "This picture reminds me of rain and I like rainy days!"
Bryce saw a picture of a snowman: "I like this picture because I like building snowman!"
Gabriella saw a picture of a car and said: "I like cars, because my dad sells cars!"
Ashrith saw a picture of a pig writing on a paper: "It is a funny picture, because pigs don't actually write!"
Layla saw a picture of a cup of tea: "I like this picture because reminds me when my mom had a tea party with me!"
Nathan saw a picture of Santa Claus: "I like Christmas!"
Vaibhav saw a picture of a laundry machine: "This picture reminds me of something funny...one day I left my toy in my pocket and my mom put it in the washer!"
Raiyan saw a picture of Lego and said: "I like this picture because I like to build stuff with Lego!"
Zia saw a picture of snow and said: "I like snow, because I build snowman with my brother!"
Lexi saw pictures of necklaces: "I like this picture because I like jewelry!"
After lunch we had reading buddies, centers and gym class. Students also participated in Drama and French classes in the morning.
Have a great evening and remember to hand in permission form and money for our Chudleigh's field trip.
