Happy Wednesday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time led by Makaela and healthy snacks.
For our Journal writing today, students copied the following: "On Halloween I will be a __________."
In Language Arts we focused on beginning sounds. Students cut and paste the beginning matching sounds. Next we worked on a graph, using colorful fish crackers. Here are some points about teaching children to graph:
  • Graphs make counting and comparing meaningful
  • Graphs provide opportunities to bring numbers, letters, letter sounds and other literacy skills to the children's attention
  • Graphing activities in the early grades are generally limited to real and pictorial graphs
  • In the afternoon we finished our silly spiders, participated in reading buddies and had centers.
Today students attended Drama, French and Gym classes.
    Have a great evening!

*In my last email, I mentioned that you could send a trick or treat bucket on Friday. I was just told that Honor will be giving a bucket for each student on Friday as her give-away birthday treat.
