Happy Friday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we worked on our Writing with Phonics book. Students worked on correct letter formation.
In the afternoon we had several Math activities. Students practiced their numeracy skills by counting and checking the correct number. For centers today we had painting, lego and tangram.
Today students attended French and Gym classes.

Great Thursday!

Today we began the day with the Poem presentations. Then students had a little break to have a snack. Next, we watched the awards ceremony. Students came back in class and we had our daily five - read to self.
After lunch we watched the upper grades presenting their speeches. Everyone did a great job!
Then we came back in class, read a story and attended Gym class.

Busy Day

Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks. In Language Arts we worked on our daily five - read to someone. Next we worked on our Abeka workbook: Writing with Phonics and students participated in reading groups with me.
After lunch we worked on a transportation activity where students placed types of transportation into the correct category: land, air and sea.
Next we worked on numeracy. Students counted the objects and circled the correct number using bingo dauber.
Today we had gym in the class and students attended French class.

Happy and cold Tuesday!

Ok, 24 days until Spring! The countdown is on!
Today we began the day with morning circle time and the Pancake breakfast!
In Language Arts we worked on our daily five - read to self and also in our Writing with Phonics, where students practiced correct letter formation. For early finishers we also worked on cutting and pasting upper case with lower case letters.
In Math we worked on numeracy. We are completing pages of a booklet that focus on the following:
Learn correct number formation for the numbers 0-20.
Trace and write the number.
Show the number in a tens frame.
Color the number word.
Find the number.
Color the correct amount of cubes.
Hop to the correct number.
Solve a number equation.
Write a sentence using the number word.
Draw a picture to match.
Color the correct amount of stars.
Decompose the number by tens and ones.
 

Students use math counters and manipulatives to complete the activities listed above.
To finish off the day we had centers and story time.
Today students attended Drama, French and Gym classes.

Fun Monday!

Dear Parents,
We had a blast at LEGOLAND!
In the morning students explored and went on the rides. After lunch we participated in the workshop and watched a 12 min. 4D movie.
Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but Miss. Bannon was kind enough to take pictures of our class. I'll be posting those tomorrow. :)

Happy and cold Friday!

I'm glad we stayed indoors today!
We began the day with circle time and snacks. In language arts we had our daily five - read to self and then we worked on beginning sounds. Students cut and paste pictures to put in the correct box.
Next we had our poem competition in the SK room. It was a tough decision as many of the students worked so hard!
The following students were selected to go on stage: Lexi, Honor and Aashrith
In Math we worked on numeracy: correct number formation and counting.
Next we had centers. Today students enjoyed exploring with Lego, play dough and costumes.
Today students attended Gym, French, Drama classes and we had the Show and Tell presentations.
