Happy House Color Day

Today everyone looked great representing their house colors.
In the morning we had our circle time and healthy snacks. In Language Arts we worked on rhyming words. Students cut and paste pictures to match the correct rhyming word.
Next, we worked on numeracy. Students cut and paste the missing numbers.
In the afternoon we had centers and reading buddies.
Today students attended French and Drama classes.
To finish off the day we had a house game in the gym.

Happy Jersey Day!

Today we began the day with morning with a house game in the gym. Then students came in class, we had circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we worked on beginning sounds and for early finishers we had an alphabet game, where they cut and paste the alphabet in correct order.
In the afternoon we worked on patterns related to sports and also numeracy.
Today students attended Gym, French and centers.

Happy Pajama Day!

Today our day was a bit different.

We began the day with morning circle time and some fun work.

JKs colored their pajamas using patterns and lots of colors. Then they colored their pillows and we put it all together. It looked great!

Students then had an earlier lunch and outdoor recess. After recess we watched the Speeches/Poem competition between SJA and The Maples Academy.

After that we came in class and had story time.

Students then had snacks and outdoor recess.

To finish off the day we packed up and attended Gym class.

In Language Arts we worked on our Writing with Phonics book. Students worked on correct letter formation.
In the afternoon we had several Math activities. Students practiced their numeracy skills by counting and checking the correct number. For centers today we had painting, lego and tangram.
Today students attended French and Gym classes.

Great Thursday!

Today we began the day with the Poem presentations. Then students had a little break to have a snack. Next, we watched the awards ceremony. Students came back in class and we had our daily five - read to self.
After lunch we watched the upper grades presenting their speeches. Everyone did a great job!
Then we came back in class, read a story and attended Gym class.

Busy Day

Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks. In Language Arts we worked on our daily five - read to someone. Next we worked on our Abeka workbook: Writing with Phonics and students participated in reading groups with me.
After lunch we worked on a transportation activity where students placed types of transportation into the correct category: land, air and sea.
Next we worked on numeracy. Students counted the objects and circled the correct number using bingo dauber.
Today we had gym in the class and students attended French class.
